Fireflies

Fireflies

by JOHANNA RIBLER

The glow that radiates off your skin
Like fireflies dancing in the nighttime sky
Each one unique, as each one passes by

When the fireflies make their connection
The separate lights make a single reflection
And that beauty steals my breath away
As each passing moment turns into a passing day

The sky filled with millions of stars does not compare
To a brush of your cheek or a lock of your hair
So look me in the eye if I dare to take the chance
Your beauty sends me to heaven by just a single glance

The skin upon your cheek is a black canvas to a dove
And one kiss upon your precious lips I know you’ll fall in love
