The Abnormal Route

The Abnormal Route

by BRIANNA ROSE BURTON

I am a speck of the unknown – the darkness and the light,
I come from beyond valleys, to befriend those who excite.
I seek to keep on going, and possess a unique trait,
and always have resemblance to those that can relate.
I am part of the river, that meanders through my soul,
and a heart that pulsates rapidly when I’m not in control.
I see beyond horizons, as far as it will go,
and touch that which I cannot, sadness bestows.
An energy that flows through time, on earth, and in space –
a wounded essence that cannot escape.
A field of burning bushes, as I laugh and cry,
alone within my world, where all I ask is “why?”
